Quality and Standards

Austin Hughes is proud of our quality accreditation and compliance achieved to date. Our manufacturing processes are conducted in accordance with BSI ISO9001 ensuring maximum operating efficiency for our manufacturing, assembly and test facilities. Products have third party test certification, such as UL / cUL, BSI, TUV, CE, UKCA, FCC, and WEEE.

FCC mark is a certification on electronic products sold in the USA which certifies that the electromagnetic interference from the device is under limits approved by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

UKCA


The UKCA (UK Conformity Assessed) mark is a UK product marking for electronic goods being sold in Great Britain (England, Wales & Scotland). UKCA is a mandatory mark on a product to indicate that it conforms to British legislation.

Products may carry both the UKCA and CE mark, as the CE mark remains for products entering European markets.

TUV

TUV provides comprehensive inspection, testing, verification and certification services around the world. Their international team of experts work in accredited laboratories and on-site operational facilities to test and certify the safety, usability and quality of technical systems as well as capital and consumer goods.

Our clients can be reassured that Austin Hughes product-specific quality has been checked by an independent third party.

CB

The IEC CB Scheme is multilateral agreement to allow international certification of electrical and electronic products so that a single certification allows worldwide market access.

CE

CE Certification applies to the European Economic Area (EEA). Where applicable products comply with all relevant essential requirements including EU safety, health or environmental requirements and is an indicator of a product’s compliance with EU legislation.

Austin Hughes adhere to the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation & restriction of Chemicals (REACH) – the system for controlling chemicals in the European Union (EU).

RoHs

Austin Hughes products comply with the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHs) in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE) regulations.

RoHS 3 (EU Directive 2015/863) adds Category 11 products and adds four new phthalate restrictions.

Austin Hughes CyberView and UltraView products comply with the Reuse / Recycling / Recovery Assessment EU WEEE Directive 2012/19/EU. This directive aims to contribute to sustainable production and consumption of electronics and prevent Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment.

Austin Hughes as part of our environmental commitment has been reassessing how we package our products. Plastic takes too long to degrade and therefore remains negatively impacting the environment for generations.

We have committed to reducing the use of plastic bags in our packing processes, and therefore minimising the environmental impact of our products. Our target is to achieve 100% plastic-free packaging.
